Two charged with drug trafficking in Elliot Lake

A police raid on a residence in Elliot Lake uncovered cocaine, cash and cellphones, Ontario Provincial Police said Thursday.

Armed with a search warrant, officers arrived at 3 p.m. and entered the residence on Chalmers Crescent.

“Approximately 386 grams of suspected cocaine (approximate street value $17,000), digital scales, packaging material (dime bags), approximately $1,700 in cash and four cellphones were seized,” the OPP said in a news release.

A 42-year-old from Elliot Lake and a 52-year-old from Toronto are charged with trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 9.
