SUDBURY -- Sault Ste. Marie police officials say they have arrested two people in their 20s in connection with Monday's mall jewelry store robbery, but two suspects are still at large.

Officers were called to a smash-and-grab at the Charm Diamond store inside the Station Mall at 11:08 a.m. Feb. 24.

Police say three males broke a display case and took an undisclosed amount of property.

A 26-year-old man, being held by mall security when officers arrived, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with one count of robbery.

The two accomplices allegedly fled in a vehicle waiting outside of the mall.

Police reportedly tracked down the alleged driver of the getaway vehicle at 3 p.m. Monday. During her arrest, she allegedly had a necklace valued at $799 and small quantities of drugs, suspected to be methamphetamine and cocaine.

The 21-year-old female is now charged with one count of robbery, one count of possession of stolen property, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Police say they have determined that no shots were fired during the incident, but an axe was used to break into the display case.

They are still looking for the other two male suspects that fled the robbery scene.
