SUDBURY – Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to an armed robbery of a convenience store in Englehart on Thursday.
One of the two suspects, armed with a weapon, entered the convenience store with their face covered and demanded cash and cigarettes. Upon leaving the store, the suspect got into a vehicle which was being driven by the other suspect.
After the incident, OPP observed the suspect vehicle, initiated a traffic stop and both suspects were arrested.
As a result, a 19-year-old Englehart resident has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery
- Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Disguise with Intent
- Imitation Firearm or Ammunition
- Fail to Comply with Sentence
A 42-year-old Englehart resident also faces charges of:
- Armed Robbery
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance
Both accused remain in custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 3 in Temiskaming Shores.
