Trio in North Bay charged after reports of a fight lead police to find $281K in drugs
Two women, including a young offender, and a man have been charged in North Bay after police discovered $281,000 worth of fentanyl, cocaine and crystal meth.
The arrests took place Nov. 19 around 11 p.m., when police responded to reports of a fight and a disturbance at a residence in the city.
"Upon entering the residence, police observed illegal drugs and arrested the three accused," police said in a news release Wednesday.
A search warrant was executed on the residence the following day, when the suspected drugs were seized, including 565 grams of fentanyl, 630 grams of cocaine and 649 grams of crystal meth. A set of brass knuckles was also found.
"The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $281,250," police said.
Charged with drug trafficking and weapons offences are the two women, ages 35 and 17, and a 43-year-old man.
The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
