Transportation officials investigating ‘hard landing’ at Sault airport

The Transportation Safety Board is looking into the circumstances surrounding a “hard landing” at the Sault Ste. Marie Airport.

Officials at the airport said the incident happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and involved a Sault College training aircraft.

Officials said there were two people on board the plane and that both walked away from the crash. The runway was closed for a couple of hours.

A spokesperson from the Transportation Safety Board said it is gathering information and working with local authorities, but is not deploying investigators to the site.

CTV News reached out to Sault College for comment, but did not hear back before deadline.
