Timmins suspect charged with sex assault, extortion
Timmins Police.
A 52-year-old resident of Timmins is facing several disturbing charges related to incidents that began in 2018.
In a news release Tuesday, the Timmins Police Service said the incidents took place between 2018 and 2022.
"The allegations centre on criminal acts committed against an adult female person," police said in a news release.
The suspect was arrested Friday. Charges include sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, extortion and publishing an intimate image without consent.
"The accused was released from police custody at a bail hearing held on Saturday," police said.
A court date in the case has been set for Aug. 16 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins.
