TIMMINS -- The best spaghetti sauce cook in Timmins is holding onto his title for another year.

He was crowned on Saturday evening at the 8th Annual Wayne Buttineau Memorial Pasta Sauce Contest and dinner event, hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Timmins. The event, held at the Lord's Kitchen, raises money for to help provide hot meals for the community's less fortunate

The sauce is always made from scratch at this event, and this year, there were three choices: beef, vegetarian and chicken.

Jack Bennett won the title with his chicken sauce recipe.

Timmins Kinsmen Club President Patrick Lessard says the most heartwarming aspect this year was that many people bought tickets and donated them to people in need.

Around 150 people attended this year’s dinner.
