TIMMINS -- Glencore Kidd Operations in Timmins, which includes the world's deepest base-metal mine below sea level, wants to supply its employees with more hand sanitizer.

A few weeks ago, it called Compass Brewing, a local craft beer producer, to request a batch of 70 per cent proof disinfectant.

So far, Compass Brewing has produced 5,000 bottles based on a recipe from the World Health Organization.

Kidd Operations officials say they will supply their local employees first and also has plans to donate some to the City of Timmins to be handed out to any of its departments that are in need.

This is a developing story, more to come…
