Timmins clerk stabbed in violent robbery, woman arrested
A 30-year-old Timmins woman is charged in a “violent robbery” that escalated into the stabbing of a convenience store clerk in the city’s north end, police say.

The violent attack happened on March 22 and officers responded shortly after 9 p.m., the Timmins Police Service (TPS) said in a news release Wednesday.
“A lone female had entered the store and began gathering various items in the store in an attempt to leave without making any effort to pay for the items,” said police.
“When confronted by the store clerk, the female brandished a weapon, assaulted the store clerk and left the scene.”
In an email to CTV News, police Insp. Richard Blanchette confirmed the weapon used was a knife.
Police said the clerk was able to dial 911 for help.
“The store clerk was subsequently taken to the Timmins and District Hospital where she was treated for her injuries,” said police.
Blanchette said that the victim was “released a short time later.”
The female suspected was identified and located shortly after the incident and the weapon involved was also recovered by police according to the news release.
The 30-year-old local woman has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery with violence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused remains in custody following a bail hearing with a future court date yet to be scheduled.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
