Timmins chefs to serve up a feast on the farm experience
Brianna Humphrey, a Timmins farmer, chef and restaurateur is ready to host more than 160 guests for a Feast On the farm signature experience in the city on Saturday.

She said the sold-out event is supported by Culinary Tourism Alliance, Tourism Timmins and Destination Northern Ontario and it’s the first time a signature event like this has taken place north of Temiskaming Shores.
Humphrey will be joined by Timmins-based Sparks Pizza and Ciao Sandwich.
“We're making a pan-fried campfire trout … with a wonderful watermelon green bean tomato salsa filled with only ingredients grown in northern Ontario with some really lovely locally made hot sauce,” said Humphrey.
“My aunt has picked us up a bushel of sumac, which is also being incorporated into our dish …. and we have Ciao Sandwich Company working with local butternut squash, as well as Bison du Nord.”
Culinary Tourism Alliance officials said hosting a signature event like this in Timmins is a breath of fresh air.
“We are based out of the city (Toronto) and we just we look for opportunities like this to come in and work with our Feast On network in remote places,” said Kshitij Ratan, the program sales coordinator.
“We found people are hungry for local food and it’s the next thing and it's something that we should really be attention to.”
Organizers said they appreciate all the support people give to local farmers. They said the more they get, the more they can give.
