Three from Kirkland Lake charged with murder of missing woman

A 43-year-old and a 57-year-old from Kirkland Lake have been charged with first degree murder of Ashley Lafrance, who was reported missing Sept. 9, the Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Saturday.

Earlier in the week, police also charged another 40-year-old Kirkland Lake resident with the murder of Lafrance.

Lafrance’s remains have not been found. She was 29.

“The Kirkland Lake OPP crime unit is continuing this investigation,” police said, with help from specialized police units, including the OPP canine unit.
