SUDBURY -- A raid by the Sault Police Service on June 24 on a Northland Road residence uncovered a host of illegal items, police said in a news release Thursday.

As a result, two women and a man have been charged with trafficking and weapons offences.

Armed with a search warrant, police entered the residence at 10:42 a.m. and arrested the trio.

"During a subsequent search of the area of arrest, officers located quantities of what is believed to be controlled substances," police said.

Items recovered include 15.9 grams of methamphetamine, 6.4 grams of MDMA, 43.9 grams of fentanyl, 2.2 grams of cocaine, 2.4 grams of heroin, brass knuckles, a .22 calibre rifle and $15,070 in Canadian currency. The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is $25,280.

The two women, ages 28 and 41, and a 32-year-old man are charged with five counts of trafficking, multiple weapons possession offences, illegal possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.

The two women are also charged with breaching probation.

All of the accused were held for bail court.
