Update 1:

SUDBURY -- A 17-year-old transported to the hospital after being stabbed in downtown Sudbury has since died from injuries.

Police officials say "this is now a homicide investigation."

They ask anyone with information to contact 705-675-9171, extension 2320.

Sudbury police say they are investigating an alleged stabbing downtown that has one man in critical condition.

Officers have cordoned off an area of Cedar Street, near the downtown transit hub.

Police say one man is in critical condition and there are two possible male suspects.

One suspect is said to be wearing a white t-shirt and red jacket.

The second potential suspect is described as white, wearing a grey sweatshirt, dark pants, and carrying a dark backpack.

Officials with Greater Sudbury Police Service say "do not approach individuals matching descriptions."

Anyone with information related to this incident or suspects are asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

Police say the individuals involved in the incident know each other.

Several officers are on the scene and police are asking people to avoid the area.

Officials with the City of Greater Sudbury say the road closure on Cedar St., between Young and Lisgar, has temporarily blocked access to the GOVA Downtown Transit Terminal. As a result, buses will stop on Elm Street, across from the transit terminal, for travel to and from downtown.

CTV Northern Ontario's Dana Roberts will have more details. Stay tuned!
