The Soo's Got Talent will be premiering their 2019 edition at The Grand Gardens, Verdi Ballroom in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday, September 13.

Founder Mario Nacarrato says the event aims to benefit local charities, support local artists, and bring everyone closer together.

“We want to motivate and inspire the community. We want to make them aware that we have so much talent in Sault Ste. Marie, while at the same time, we want to make money for charity,” said Nacarrato.

Nacarrato said they raised $600 for the Canadian Cancer Society during last year’s inaugural edition of the event, and that this year’s fundraising initiative is for The Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH).

Contestants in the Talent Show will undergo a series of qualifying rounds over several dates in September until the final five are narrowed down for finals on October 11.

“I’m looking forward to raising money, expanding my reach through meeting people and to discovering new talent,” expressed Nacarrato.

Doors at the Grand Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie will open at 7 p.m., and the show will being at 8 p.m.

The event will also be recorded and broadcasted online through Onntv, an internet channel that streams local news, programming and professionally made advertisements for community partners.
