The province is lifting a suspension that was placed on a retirement facility in Sault Ste. Marie nearly five months ago.

Back on October 30th, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care ordered Extendicare Maple View in the Sault to stop accepting new residents.  Inspectors with the ministry found the nursing home was not providing proper care for its residents. Last month, the province lifted the ban with some restrictions.

Only one new resident is allowed to be admitted per day, and staff must work with the local health integration network to develop a plan to ensure all safety needs are met.
