Suspected impaired driver in Sudbury flees scene after crashing vehicle with four people inside

A 57-year-old suspended driver from Greater Sudbury is facing numerous charges following an incident May 17.
Ontario Provincial Police were called around 6 p.m. along with fire and paramedics to a collision on Highway 17, east of Mill Road, in Greater Sudbury.
“A vehicle had collided into a ditch with four occupants,” the OPP said in a news release Monday.
“Two occupants fled from the scene, while the two occupants that remained received minor injuries and were treated by paramedic services. A short time later, the other two occupants were located.”
The driver was charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, dangerous driving and driving while suspended.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 12 in Sudbury.
The already suspended driver was issued a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
