Suspect pulls knife during road-rage exchange on Hwy. 17 near North Bay

A road rage incident March 14 on Highway 17 escalated quickly, with one of those involved pulling out a knife during the confrontation.

Ontario Provincial Police were notified around 12:30 March 14 about the incident on Dutrisac Road in West Nipissing.

“It was reported that two vehicles had been involved in a road rage incident on Highway 17 and pulled onto a side road to confront each other,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Monday.

“One driver brandished a knife while uttering a threat to harm the other driver.”

A 32-year-old from North Bay has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 4.
