Suspect caught with firearms after fleeing from OPP

SUDBURY – While on patrol, members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police observed two suspicious vehicles parked in a residential area in Sturgeon Falls on November 29.
Upon activating their emergency lights to investigate further, the pick-up truck and SUV fled the scene.
A short time later, the SUV was observed on Beaudry Road and officers conducted a stop on Highway 17 in Verner.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old from Garson was arrested and charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition
- Flight from Police Officer
The pick-up truck was not located. It is described as a Chevrolet or GMC and grey or beige in colour.
