Update:

Ontario Provincial Police say a 58-year-old man from Markstay-Warren has been charged in connection to the disturbance Thursday night.

He has been charged with:

  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused is being held and is scheduled for a bail hearing Friday, June 7.

Ontario Provincial Police say they were called to a disturbance east of Greater Sudbury Thursday evening.

They say someone was making threats in the Municipality of Markstay-Warren around 6 pm June 6.

OPP Emergency Response Team and K9 unit assisted and the suspect was apprehended then taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is now facing firearms-related offences.

An investigation is ongoing with Sudbury OPP Crime Unit.
