The design emphasizes the colour red which represents the southern doorway in the Medicine Wheel along with the teachings that come with it – teachings of growth, empathy and passion.
“You know it just shows the commitment that this organization has, the Sudbury Wolves organization has towards truth and reconciliation,” said Jordan Assinewe, Manager of Community Relations with Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre.
“It’s games like this that bring friends together, brings families together, it brings the whole community together so it’s a really special night.”
All of the jerseys from this weekend’s game will be made available through an online auction.
Proceeds from the jerseys and the t-shirts will go towards supporting the cause.
“The Sudbury Wolves supporters, the Sudbury Wolves and Indigenous communities, we are all living together in harmony and we can come together holding hands with true respect, joy, love and happiness for each other,” said Wolves owner Dario Zulich.
“It just makes me feel good
Last year’s jerseys and t-shirt sales raised just over $5,000.
It is something both players and the organization take seriously adding this is about the community.
“It feels pretty unreal, I mean the jerseys look great,” said Wolves centre David Goyette.
“Obviously it’s a great cause and it’s important for us to do these things once in a while and it’s the second year doing it so feels good to be doing it again.”

It’ll be bigger and better every single year,” said Zulich.
Two local Indigenous youth have also been invited to centre ice for the game to drop the puck.
