SUDBURY -- A Walmart employee at the North Supercenter location in Sudbury, Ont. on LaSalle Boulevard has been confirmed to have COVID-19.

An official with Walmart confirmed to CTV News that the employee last worked on April 12.

"Out of an abundance of caution, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact have been directed to self-isolate," said Felicia Fefer, Manager of Corporate Affairs with Walmart.

Fefer adds that the store has "regular, enhanced cleaning in the store and other social distancing measures in place."

She adds that residents should be "rest assured, we will continue to take measures necessary to ensure the well-being of our customers and associates."

There is a line outside of Walmart where Walmart shoppers are expected to practice physical distancing as they wait to be allowed in the store.
