SUDBURY -- A trial is underway at the Sudbury courthouse, where it’s alleged a woman in her early 20’s persuaded a 15-year-old into prostitution.

Taneeka James faces four human-trafficking-related charges.

On Monday, the judge heard the teen was feeling depressed and was using marijuana and speed over a four-day period, when she alleges she was coerced to “turn a trick” and hand the money over to James.

A publication ban protects the teen’s identity.

The defence will not say if the accused woman will take the stand.
