SUDBURY -- Sudbury's Science North has laid off 22 employees effective Oct. 1, citing ongoing challenges due to the pandemic.

Guy Labine, chief executive officer at Science North, said admissions are down at the centre, triggering the staff reduction.

Labine tells CTV News the layoffs are only temporary and said that many other museums and centres have had to face this situation due to the pandemic.

More to come on this developing story.
