SUDBURY -- Sudbury police say a 38-year-old man has been killed in a crash involving a pickup truck on MR55 early Friday morning.

"Just before 3:45 a.m. this morning, Friday, Nov. 27, we received a call regarding a serious motor vehicle collision on MR55 approximately half way between Balsam Street and Big Nickel Road in Copper Cliff," Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release.

The crash involved a pedestrian and a pickup truck.

"The 38-year-old man (pedestrian) involved in the collision was pronounced deceased on scene," said police. "The man’s name will not be released out of respect for his family’s wishes."

No details have been given about the cause of the crash or if any charges are pending.

"Our traffic management unit is conducting an investigation into the collision and the investigation is ongoing," police said.
