He is charged with assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, failing to comply with a release order and two counts of aggravated assault.

Police are asking the public for help locating him and released his mugshot.

The arrest warrant was issued March 28, police spokesperson Sarah Kaelas told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.

"Since that time, officers have made multiple attempts to locate Tyler Montpellier, however, it’s believed he is actively evading police," Kaelas said.

"Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of Tyler Montpellier is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477."

None of the allegations has been proven in court.

The City of Greater Sudbury joined more than 60 other municipalities and regions in declaring intimate partner and gender-based violence an epidemic in a unanimous decision in November.
