SUDBURY -- In a Tweet late Saturday night, Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) confirmed they are investigating what it says were two back-to-back incidents on Notre Dame Drive between Cambrian Heights Drive and Leslie Street.

On Nov. 14 at approx. 10:00 p.m., both the Burger King and Domino’s Pizza on Notre Dame Avenue were robbed prompting two police investigations that included the K-9 unit but did not yield any results.

Police were not able to locate any suspects.

The first robbery took place at the Burger King and involved what police are calling an “edged weapon.”
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approx. 6’ tall with a medium build.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a bright blue under armour sweater, dark blue jeans, white running shoes, and a yellow and red baseball cap.

Police say the suspect used a surgical mask that concealed their identity.

The second robbery took place minutes later at the Domino’s Pizza not but 1km away.  Police say there was no weapon used during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approx. 5’10”-6’ tall with a slim build.  He is described as weighing approx. 150 Ibs who at the time of the robbery was wearing a purple under armour jacket with a teal coloured undershirt, dark pants and black sneakers.

According to police, the suspect was also wearing a blue surgical mask that concealed their identity.

Police say that while there are similarities, they are investigating the robberies as two separate incidents at this time.  Descriptions are always subject to interpretation and police have not yet released details on the suspect’s estimated ages.

In the first robbery, the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, while the second robbery saw the suspect unable to obtain anything successfully.

This is a developing story.  Check back often for updates.
