SUDBURY -- Sudbury police say they have arrested a man they believe to be responsible for the shed fire behind a local restaurant on Monday night.

The blaze happened behind Di Gusto on Regent Street and was deemed suspicious, so the Ontario Fire Marshal was called in.

There were no injuries in the incident that caused an estimated $2,000 damage.

Just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, detectives and patrol officers located and arrested the man believed to have caused fire.

He has been charged with break and enter and arson.

Police also said the accused was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for another incident that happened in February:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Two counts of break and enter
  • Theft of a credit card

He is scheduled to attend bail court Wednesday to answer to the charges.
