SUDBURY -- Acting on a request from police in Toronto, Greater Sudbury Police arrested a fugitive from southern Ontario this week wanted on 38 charges, including human trafficking, domestic violence and firearms offences.

Police received the request Wednesday and arrested the 22-year-old man Thursday.

Special police units "conducted a high-risk vehicle stop and safely apprehended the wanted man without incident," police said in a news release Friday. "(He) has been returned to the Toronto Police Service to answer to the charges."

A Greater Sudbury man who was also inside the vehicle was found to be in possession of cocaine and was charged, police said.
