Sudbury police arrest one after Flour Mill firearm complaint
Hours after Sudbury police set up a perimeter around a residential building on a quiet Flour Mill street following a firearm complaint, one man has been arrested.
Greater Sudbury Police Service spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn told CTV News a concerned community member reported the incident on King Street on Wednesday morning.
Paramedics and the police emergency response and canine units were called to the scene.
There have been no injuries, Dunn said, as the investigation continues.
The street was blocked off by police between Morin and Kehoe avenues around 11 a.m.
Two men and a woman exited the residence and one of the men was taken into custody without incident around 1:30 p.m., police said on social media.
King Street has reopened and the ERU has cleared the unit.
"Officers will remain on scene as (Criminal Investigation Division) will be applying for a search warrant of the unit," police said.
No word on the charges.
The 30-year-old male accused has been charged with forcible confinement, assault and assault with a weapon. He was held overnight in custody and is scheduled to appear in bail court Thursday.
