SUDBURY -- A 43-year-old man is in custody after flashing a jogger and threatening several people with a knife in Sudbury's Gatchell neighbourhood Monday evening, police say.

Sudbury police say a man approached a woman while she was jogging on Lorne Street and exposed himself to her.

She was able to run away, but he then approached two people playing basketball on Logan Street and started yelling at then. He pulled a knife on them when confronted by one of the basketball players and began to threaten them.

A Lorne Street business called police around 5:35 p.m. when the man could be heard yelling at the two people from across the street while waving a knife.

The man ran inside the business when officers arrived and he had to be coaxed out and eventually surrendered.

He is now charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and an indecent act.

The accused was held overnight in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing Tuesday.
