The accused teen was granted bail and will be back in court on April 10th.

Sudbury police say their investigation has determined that no other individuals were involved in the threat posted on social media and that the images of the guns are stock photos from the internet. 

Officers will be at College Notre-Dame Wednesday, March 19 to speak to students and staff.

An increased police presence will remain at the school over the next couple of days.

Additional resources and support will be made available to the students. 

UPDATE: 

Around 5:30 pm on March 19, Sudbury detectives and a tactical unit arrested an 18-year-old man from Greater Sudbury believed to be responsible for a threat posted on social media against a local high school that day.
 
This individual is also believed to be responsible for an additional post about Sudbury's College Notre Dame post under the account 'cdn_is_sus' and titled "CND KILL LIST" posted Tuesday afternoon and has since been deleted. 
 
He is facing two charges, criminal harassment and uttering threats, and is being held in custody. A bail hearing is scheduled on Wednesday.

Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a threat that was made on social media Tuesday against a local high school.

Police say that shortly after 8 am March 19, a staff member from Collège Notre-Dame reported a threatening post made against the school on Instagram.

A post made under the account name ‘sch00lsh00ter767’ included pictures of guns and was captioned “Friday March 22nd, everyone will finally know my name… Look out CND. @alouettes101”  The account and post have since been deleted.

The GSPS Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident to determine the origin of the post and the validity of the threat.

Police say that they take these types of occurrences very seriously and that the safety of staff and students is the top priority. There will be an increased police presence at the school and additional resources will be available to students.

Anyone will information related to this post, Instagram account, or individual(s) operating the account are asked to contact the police at 705-675-9171 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.

CTV News spoke to Paul de la Riva, the director of communications for the school board Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario.

He says the police are meeting with the school administration and that they have brought in social workers to provide support to the students. 

De la Riva says the school is not on lockdown, but there is increased police presence at the school and in the neighbourhood.
