Some sad news to report regarding a well-known and well-loved pastor in Sudbury.

CTV News has learned that Pastor Jeremy Mahood has passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 4.

He was the pastor at All Nations Church since 1978*, and served as pastor to the Sudbury Police Service.

Mahood was also the enthusiastic leader of the annual living nativity celebration at Science North during Christmastime.

He just published a book on spiritual maturity called 'The Character of Christ in You - Developing Spiritual Maturity.'

Mahood would have been 70 on Sunday. 

Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger released the following statement on Tuesday afternoon:

"It’s with deep sadness that I learn about the passing of Mr. Jeremy Mahood.


Mr. Mahood has done so much good for our community and has always had a strong reputation in our community for his kindness, willingness to help others and for the positive impact he has left us with.

I know that the loss of Mr. Mahood will be felt not only at All Nations Church where he served as Pastor but across our entire community. At this time, on behalf of City Council, I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends and loved ones of Mr. Mahood during this difficult time."
