SUDBURY -- A Sudbury grandfather has won $1 million in the lottery and says he "will continue to work part-time."

Charles Scopazzi, 68, won the guaranteed $1 million prize in the Lotto 6/49 draw on July 18.

He couldn't believe it when he discovered his win while checking several tickets at a grocery store.

"I scanned my tickets, and then I checked the winning one again," said Scopazzi. "It was shocking – I couldn’t believe it."

He said he is making retirement plans for him and his partner, but that he will continue to work part-time.

"I can't express it," said Scopazzi. "You can pinch me, but I'm still in disbelief."

He purchased his winning ticket at Cara's Convenience on Lorne Street.

Lottery winners can now pick up their prizes of $10,000 or more at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto after making an appointment. When attending the prize centre, everyone must wear personal protective equipment. Prizes up to $49,999.90 can be claimed by mail.
