A 31-year-old Sudbury man who was seriously injured in a collision in May has been charged with impaired driving.

The crash took place around 7 a.m. May 2 on MR35 heading toward Sudbury.

Before the single-vehicle collision, Greater Sudbury Police Service received “multiple traffic complaints regarding a pickup truck being driven erratically,” police said in a news release Monday.

“As the traffic complaints were being received by our 9-1-1 emergency communications centre, the vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle collision where the driver sustained life-threatening injuries.”

Investigators received judicial permission to conduct a toxicological analysis of the driver’s blood.

“The analysis revealed that the driver did have a blood drug concentration at the time of the collision,” police said.

Charges include dangerous driving and several impaired driving charges, including drugged driving, driving while impaired by methamphetamine and ketamine and possession of methamphetamine.

The suspect has a court date of Aug. 14.
