SUDBURY -- A 44-year-old man from Greater Sudbury was arrested Sept. 20 after police received a report of a pickup truck towing a trailer crashing through the locked gates of a business in Sturgeon Falls.

The business was located on Golf Course Road in the community and police received a report the truck was headed westbound on Highway 17.

"Investigation revealed the pickup truck and utility trailer containing two motorized snow vehicles were stolen from the business," police said in a news release Tuesday.

"Shortly thereafter, officers located the vehicle parked along Highway 17 in Verner. The accused was found near the stolen vehicle and after a short foot chase, was arrested."

The 44-year-old Sudbury man is now charged with break and enter, mischief under $5,000, two counts of mischief over $5,000, possession of stolen property, obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in bail court at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 21 in North Bay.
