Sudbury Five kicks off the new basketball season Nov. 23
The Sudbury Five begins the 2024-25 season at home on Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m., partnering with the Santa Clause Parade.
"We invite all fans to join us downtown early for the parade before heading over to the Sudbury Community Arena for the game," the team said in a news release.
"This season is packed with fan-favorite events, including the beloved Baby Race, Family Day, Crocs Night, the LU Triple Header, and Fan Fest. We’re also introducing new themes like Sudbury Saturday Night – Five style and special crossover nights with the Sudbury Wolves."
The team also announced it has re-signed Jelani Simmons. Jelani, a six-foot-five small forward from Columbus, Ohio, joined the team in March last season.
"Before coming to Sudbury, he played internationally with TFT Skopje in the Adriatic ABA Liga 2, where he averaged 12.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, one assist, and 1.2 steals per game," the release said.
"During his senior year at the University of Southern Indiana, Jelani achieved a career-high of 26 points in a single game, along with six rebounds, three assists and two steals."

Tickets for the pre-season game on Nov. 10 are now on sale, with single-game tickets for the rest of the season coming soon.
Fans can secure their seats for all 17 home games with season memberships available online or at the Sudbury Arena box office.
