SUDBURY – The Sudbury Five basketball team will be back on the court in just over a months' time.
On October 15, Head Coach Logan Stutz unveiled the team's new jerseys for the upcoming season as well as a new player whose joining the team from Kansas City.
The new white jersey will be worn for home games, and a new black jersey will be for away games.
"From what people told us, they want to see the name on the front, the number on the front, something new, something different so we put some time and effort into it this year and I'm excited for them. I think they turned out great," said Stutz.
The Sudbury Five also unveiled a new alternative jersey and announced the resigning of two northern Ontario players, Joey Puddister and George Serresse.
The newest addition to the team is 24-year-old Brady Skeens from Kansas City.
Skeens says he's been playing basketball since the age of four, and says he's excited for this new adventure.
"I'm excited for this opportunity and this experience. I'm coming in ready to learn and I'm ready to kind of be able to get out to the community and give fans a good show. I expect to do well and be successful this year as a team," said Skeens.
Coach Stutz says he was blown away with the amount of supportive fans last year.
"We did hit bumps in the road or even a couple losses but we knew every night we were going to have a crowd behind us. So just the energy, always gave us something to play for," he explained.
Stutz says this year, fans can expect "bigger, better, faster, stronger, more threes, more dunks, ultimately better success but you're going to get the same energy and excitement. You're going to be on the edge of your seat."
Sudbury Five will hit the court during the third week of November to play their first exhibition game, where they will face Moncton Magic who won the championship last year.
