After Sudbury businessman, Andre Dumais, accused city councillor, Joscelyne Landy-Altmann last week, of not declaring a conflict of interest regarding the vote for the new arena site, she is finally responding.

Dumais claims that Landry-Altmann was involved with the Sudbury District Motorsports Association, which has a vested interest in the location of the new entertainment complex. He felt she should have recused herself from voting in the arena decision.

The SDMA is planning to build a racetrack as part of the new Kingsway entertainment complex.

Councillor Landry-Altmann says she learned of the complaint through the media, and was never officially served with papers.  She responded Tuesday night at the city council meeting.

“Mr. Dumais has used the media to publicize his complaint.  I ceased being a director with the SDMA on March 22nd, 2017.  The supporting documentation for it is with my lawyer.” said Landry-Altmann.

Coucillor Landry-Altmann says she is requesting that Dumais now withdraw his court application and publicly apologize because his complaint is false.

Mr. Dumais told CTV News Wednesday morning that he will not apologize and will continue to fight.
