SUDBURY --
The City of Greater Sudbury has closed the Bell Park Boardwalk from Science North to McNaughton Terrance.
In a news release Saturday morning, city officials said the move is to ensure physical distancing measures and limit the potential spread of COVID-19.
The city cites the volume of pedestrians on the boardwalk as the reason for the temporary closure.
"The number of pedestrians on the Bell Park Boardwalk has created a situation where physical distancing is not manageable," reads the statement.
The release goes onto advise residents that officials will continue taking the precautionary steps needed to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
