One of sudbury's retail cannabis stores is one step closer to opening its doors.

Shortly before 7 pm Friday, April 12, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario confirmed it has approved and issued a retail operator licence to Saturnius Partners and store authorization for its store, Canna Cabana Sudbury, to open in the city's South End.

This means the store can fiinalize their setup, including ordering and receiving cannabis products and accessories.

The AGCO says it must still conduct a pre-opening inspection to ensure the store is incompliance with the regulations.

CTV News will continue following the story.
