SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police in Sturgeon Falls have charged a 20-year-old man from Sturgeon Falls in connection with an attack Sept. 24.

The incident began at 10:30 p.m., when two people walking on King Street in Sturgeon Falls met up with two other people.

"Their conversation became heated and confrontational and subsequently resulted with one person being stabbed," police said in a news release.

"The victim, who suffered a stab wound to the upper body, was treated and released from hospital."

The accused 20-year-old man was arrested the next day and charged with assault with a weapon. He was released and is scheduled to appear in a Sturgeon Falls court Nov. 5.
