SAULT STE. MARIE – The second annual Steel City Nerd Con took place on September 28 in Sault Ste. Marie.

Hundreds of people were dressed up as their favourite super hero, villain, anime character, or even cartoon.

Last year, 1100 people showed up to the Sault's comic con event.

This year was projected to have an even greater turn out.

"I really like it. I like that there's something closer than having to go to Toronto for something like this. Fan expo is great too, and I like going there, but it's nice to have something back home where you can meet people who like the same kind of things that you do," said Matthew Levesque, comic con attendee.

The event is all about celebrating the comic book culture and those who appreciate it.

There were video game competitions and awards for best costumes.
