Ontario Provincial Police are warning residents in Mattawa, Powassan, Bonfield, East Ferris Township and surrounding areas they may not be able to reach 911 for the next little while “based on your service provider.”

The service disruption affects both landlines and cellphones.

“The North Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police ask that if any police, fire, or if medical assistance is required, please use the following telephone numbers if 911 does not connect to the emergency services,” police said.

To get the OPP, dial 1-888-310-1122 or *677 (*OPP).

Police said further information will be released as it becomes available. Top Stories
