SUDBURY -- OPP say a snowmobiler on a trail near Lady Evelyn Lake, west of Temiskaming Shores, was ejected from their machine after hitting a raised bank on Saturday.

Police say they responded to a snowmobile collision shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 15.

OPP media relations officer Jennifer Smith says a group of snowmobilers were riding together on an unmaintained trail when one of the machines hit a raised bank.

The driver was taken to a nearby cottage in Barr Township, near Mowat Landing, for medical attention, while the snowmobile was left at the crash site.

Police say the snow machine operator sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Officials say alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the collision.
