The snow squall warnings issued by Environment Canada from Hearst to Iroquois Falls Friday morning have now ended.

While most of the mess weather has cleared from northern Ontario, a band of intense snowfall is continuing through Hearst to Iroquois Falls prompting snow squall warnings Friday morning.

Environment Canada said the snowfall will be "brief but intense" and is moving eastward.

The heavy and blowing snow is expected to make travel difficult and hazardous in the area with the possibility of being suddenly reduced to near-zero.

Travellers are advised to be prepared for rapidly changing and worsening conditions.

As of 10 a.m., it is -6 C in Timmins but feels like -14 C with the wind chill. Friday's high temperature is expected to be – 4 C.
