SUDBURY -- UPDATE:

Highway 144 between  the Sudbury communities of Lively and Chelmsford have been reopened following a serious single-vehicle crash Friday evening.

Police say it happened around 4:40 p.m. Jan. 3 when a northbound vehicle left the road and landed in the ditch.

The only person in the car, the driver, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

OPP say the investigation has been completed and no charges are being laid.

Police are asking people to slow down in the area.

Nipissing West OPP attended the scene of a single vehicle collision on highway 144 between Lively and Chelmsford.

The Northbound lane on highway 144 is closed between highway 17 and Lavallée Rd.

Motorists can expect some delays and are encouraged to slow down through the area.

The vehicle went into the ditch and the driver has been sent to hospital with unknown injuries.

OPP say the investigation is ongoing.
