SUDBURY -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement Wednesday morning for these northeastern Ontario communities where up to 15 cm of snow is expected to fall:

  • Kirkland Lake - Englehart
  • Temiskaming Shores - Temagami

The snow is said to begin late Wednesday evening and continue into early Thursday afternoon, with heavy snowfall at times.

Officials say there is still some uncertainty with the track of the low pressure system and could potentially be upgraded to a snowfall warning as the storm gets closer.

The heaviest snowfall is expected to happen early Thursday morning.

Travel could become difficult due to snow accumulating quickly, so drivers are advised to allow extra time to reach their destination.
