Halloween produced quite a scare for a North Bay woman Wednesday night.

On a night where kids roam the streets going door-to-door collecting treats from neighbours, you never know what you're going to get.

And now North Bay police are investigating after Sara Donaghey, a local mother, says she found a sewing needle in her son's chocolate bar.

“I think it takes a negative person. A sick person regardless, a sick person to do that.”

She is reminding parents to check their kid's candy before allowing them to eat it.

"When I was going through them, I went through them once and just kind of felt it and tossed it away. And then I found that, and then I really went through and opened up every chocolate bar and every Smartie." said Donaghey.

Eric Taschner will have more on the story shortly.
