Two people have been charged after a group of people were attacked with a baseball bat last month in Kirkland Lake.
Ontario Provincial Police responded at 1:20 a.m. Oct. 18, along with Timiskaming EMS, to a disturbance on Government Road West, in Chaput Hughes.
"The caller observed a group of people in an altercation and then a person brandishes a baseball bat," the OPP said in a news release Saturday.
"The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries."
A 44-year-old suspect from Kirkland Lake was charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, and one count each of weapons possession and failing to comply with a release order.
The accused was held for bail court hearing and has since been released from custody and is scheduled to next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Dec. 12.
A second suspect, 27, also from Kirkland Lake, was charged with assault with a weapon, weapons possession, possession of an imitation weapon and drug trafficking.
