Reports of an overnight seismic event at Creighton Mine in Greater Sudbury had some people talking Friday morning.

Vale confirmed that a seismic event occurred below the 8,000 level of Creighton Mine at approximately 2:09 a.m. Friday morning, measuring 3.2 magnitude.

No workers were in the affected area at the time of the event and there were no injuries.

While affected areas have been restricted as per Vale’s Seismic Activity Protocols, operations at Creighton otherwise continue as normal.
